Smurths and Smithies Based on a true story. "Rule 1: Never hurt a Smurth. Rule 2: Antagonize Smurthwaite."
What is Smurths and Smithies? - Smurths and Smithies is a retelling and embellishing of my college years. The story follows my friends and aquaintances who lived in Smith House and Smurthwaite, and also a few outside personalities, people I just couldn't leave out for whatever reason.
Is everyone you knew in the story? - Regrettably, no. I worked in as many people as possible, but it was first and foremost a story with its own canon. With great difficulty I refrained from writing people in on a whim. There was one instance where I wrote someone out at their request.
Why Star Wars? - I greatly admire all that has gone into creating the Star Wars universe, even if George Lucas couldn't write dialogue to save his life. And believe it or not, it's the easiest to write into. I have near infinite choices for settings, creatures, vehicles, and weapons. Wookiepedia helped me research, I have truthfully read very few Star Wars novels. Another useful item has been maps of the Star Wars galaxy, like this one linked here.
Prologue 1 - Not Our Finest Hour - Smith House has returned after five years of inactivity. An altercation occurs in a cantina in Mos Eisley on Tatooine between Jesse and Sebastian and a Smurth contingent. Smurthwaitian President Beth gives the order to begin tracking Smithies.
Chapter 1 - Smith House snatches a mercenary from the clutches of the Smurths and collect the bounty themselves. Trevor is captured and held at Smurthwaite.
Chapter 2 - Jesse is captured after attempting to steal, of all things, a beanbag from Smurthwaite, and subsequently fails to meet with Pedro, who is bringing credits back from offworld.
Chapter 4 - Pedro, Trevor, and Jesse plot to reunite with their loved ones. Shawn gives some arguably bad advice.
Chapter 5 - Fair Trade - The exchange of lightsaber for beanbag goes badly for Jesse, and Sara appears, wielding a flamethrower.
Chapter 6 - Justin, Sam, and Jesse "escape" to Corellia, pursued by the Smurths. Fallin is recaptured by the sniper pair Seth and Jacob.
Chapter 7 - Sam and Jesse survive the crash of the Falsetto and battle Smurths on the snowswept plains of Corellia. Fallin is interrogated.
Chapter 8 - Sam and Jesse reach a factory and prepare to defend themselves. Jesse gives a short narrative on his past. Smith House on Tatooine evacuates ahead of a Smurth assault.
Chapter 9 - Don't Let the Truth Get in the Way - The showdown in the factory lands Jesse in a Corellian jail. With Erik's help he makes bail. Then Jesse gives an account of his years before Smith House, years marked by piracy and intrigue.
Chapter 10 - From Smith House on Drall, four Smithies follow a lead, the name Daniel Snell. On a tibanna gas mining platform on Bespin they run into one of their own.
Chapter 11 - Shall We Dance? - Sam and Jesse battle it out on BesGas Three after the Smithies secure a datapad left for them by the mysterious Daniel Snell.
Chapter 12 - What? No Rum? - Taylor and Jesse meet their brothers on Mustafar and reclaim a load of treasure from a cargo ship dubbed The Vault. The reunion is crashed by Smurths and a renegade Smithy.
Chapter 13 - The Scattering - The first chapter to recieve a title (others were named later), it features epic fighting and the discovery of the most disturbing and valuable clue yet: "My name is Daniel Snell. I've come to help you..."
Chapter 14 - Jesse travels to Yavin IV to meet with his former master Renaldo Jaksen and gives the true story of what happened to him on Kashyyyk. Master Jaksen promises new recruits for Smith House. A new group of unknown men appear with an interest in Smith House.
Chapter 15 - After finishing repairs on the Smurthbane, Jesse is confronted by Luke Brohmer, one of the recruits offered by Master Jaksen. In a cantina on Nar Shadda, three Smithies meet with a well-connected informant and get a little information before Smurths crash their party. Greene goes in search of Shawn and Crow.
Chapter 16- Seeing Things - Luke and Jesse discover that Jedi Master Patrick Gitchell was a Smithy, but alas, is dead. Jesse experiences an unusual shift in perspective. The other recruits from Master Jaksen meet Dustin, Seth, and Marshal at Smith House Drall.
Chapter 17 - Smith House arrives en masse on Naboo and immediately a firefight breaks out. Greene locates Crow and Shawn on Geonosis. Meryl and Lauren begin to seek answers to that persistent question, "Why can't we be friends?"
Chapter 18 - O' Valencia - Jesse and Luke join Smith House on Naboo. Two new men, Tony and Tyrel, have their first encounter with some of the new Smurthwaitians.

Chapter 22 - That's No Moon - Crow, Turner, and Greene discover a remnent of the Empire, a powerful battle station. On Naboo, the mysterious men appear and demand the Smithies give them Marshal's body.
Chapter 24 - Seth and Jesse take four new men to Hypori to observe a wild Smurth, and an old pirate rejoins the Smithies.
Chapter 25 - Sebastian makes it to Naboo and discusses with Jordan his finding from his talk with Meryl. It seems something, or someone, is feeding Smurths and Smithies information direct to their minds. On Hypori, Sam attempts to make good on his plan to kill everyone, and even stranger visions arise.
Chapter 26 - One by one, Smurths and Smithies move into position, like chess pieces poised on the edge of conflict. Meryl and the Smithies have a momentary truce after Sam's attack. Erik returns to Tatooine and discovers Kris has been hiding there for some time. The recruits from the Jedi academy meet with Shawn and Greene on the Eye of Palpatine II. Meanwhile, Crow and Jesse have found themselves in a most peculiar state of mind.
Chapter 27 - Green is the Color - Everything inches towards catastrophe on Tatooine. Meryl convinced the Smithies on Hypori to help her stop Jemma. And on the Eye of Palpatine II, Greene and Holden make an unwelcome discovery.
Chapter 28 - Mangled Realities - Jesse and Crow are confronted by unfriendly men in the K-State Union Bowling Alley, and the place will never be the same again. The Smithies with Meryl on Hypori discover Jemma and her starship, the Crusasder-class corvette Retaliation. Above Tatooine, Lauren begins to see that the future might not be so bright.
Chapter 29 - The space above Tatooine is filled with Smurth vessels, rebellious and loyal, and Smurthwaite is attacked from inside by the dark Smithy Sam. On the edge of the galaxy, a new faction emerges to finish what Smurthwaite started.
Chapter 30 - Jemma's rebellion begins in earnest. Meryl and Danielle return to Tatooine just as the attack begins, while inside Smurthwaite, the dark Smithy Sam meets Smurth president Beth. Elsewhere, Jesse and Crow receive an email from Daniel Snell.
Chapter 31 - Casualties begin to mount as Jemma attacks Smurthwaite in her quest to overthrow Madame President Beth. Jesse and Crow meet with Daniel Snell face to face, and discover that the answers they seek will not be easy to obtain. Unbeknownst to the other players on the field of battle, the Veiled Perfection has arrived on the scene, commanded by the fanatical Shoffner.
Chapter 32- Not a Barrel Roll - As Ethan, Travis, and Prelogar battle trandoshan piloted Tie-fighters above Tatooine, Seth, using a highly unorthodox method, puts an end to the duel between Sam and Beth. The attack on Smurthwaite stalls and on Korriban, Sebastian and Jordan make a disovery they immediately wish they had not in the Tomb of Darth Thaddeus.
Chapter 33 - There's No Good in Goodbye - Jesse returns in-universe and finds tragedy on Korriban. Casualties of Jemma's rebellion continue to mount. Aboard the Eye of Palpatine II fighting breaks out between Smithies and the Clovers, wielding deadly weapons.

Chapter 35 - Countdown - Within the rancor, the spirit of Sam is wrecking havoc on Mos Eisley and the Smurth forces. While a temporary and complicated truce has been called between the rival houses on Mos Eisley, Smithies continue to face down their new foe, Clovers, on the edge of the galaxy.
Chapter 37 - The Best Bad Idea We Have - With Smurth casualties rising, Sara gives the order to drop the Veil of Perfection in atmosphere and bombard the rancor directly with the frigate's guns and torpedoes. Elsewhere, Tyrell returns after an absence of several chapters, to find himself, momentarily, imprisoned.
Chapter 38 - An Explosive Solution - The monster in Mos Eisley is eliminated with extreme prejudice, just as a New Republic fleet arrives to blockade Tatooine. And then it gets worse.
Chapter 39 - Still Not A Moon - Crow decided to park the Eye of Palpatine above Tatooine. Why? He missed home, apparently. Not that there's much left of Mos Eisley at this point.
